Flight Path in case of LOC A or RNPA followed by a VPT17

In compliance with safety conditions and ATC instructions,consider the following recommandations:

  • Avoid flying over the sensitive areas
  • Between LUXUS and PIBON fly at 2000ft,fly speed ≤160kt or minimum speed in a clean configuration to be in the best noise abatement configuration
  • AIP:“If a difference in altitude between points LUXUS and PIBON when flying the VPT 17(see AIP AD 2 LFMD) (or a visual approach when RWY 17 is use),authorities may request an explanation from the crew and even file an infraction report transmitted to the ACNUSA
  • From PIBON:Make a turn at the appropriate bank angle depending on the type of aircraft and the approach speed to intercept the runway axis.The maximum speed is 160kt.Start the descent as required.Set the appropriate configuration for the approach and landing.
  • Do not fly beyond the Motorway
  • After overflying A Point,fly over north of the industrial area and intercept the runway axis and PAPI slope
  • Get into a full flaps configuration once etablished on final
  • According to the safety requirements,restrict the use of reverse thrust

Flight Path in case of a LOC B or RNP Y and Z RWY 17 followed by a circling RWY 17

This procedure is a Visual Approach used in case of bad weather

  • Ignore instructions given in the paragraph dedicated to VPT 17
  • In downwind position,the pilot must be able to identify the runway threshold without any risk of confusion
